Hugo, what is your problem with posting pointless threads these days.

Go and have a lie down for the afternoon.

Oh and Nikki Lauda ?

Beethoven wasn't Austrian, he was German.

If you're looking for great footballing Austrians, you're in for a hard time unless you go back a very long way.

Having lived there for over 3 years, I know that a fair number of Austrians, particularly in the more rural areas, still greatly revere a man by the name of Adolf Hitler.

Just to be clear, I wasn't affirming the view that AH was a great Austrian, merely than more Austrians than you might think continue to hold that view, as evidenced by the huge numbers (comparatively speaking) that voted for extremist right-wing parties in recent elections.

Now here is a truly great Austrian:

Beethoven moved to Austria as a child so i guess he was Anglo Austrian.
Hitler was voted Man of the year in 1938 by Time Magazine. At that time to the outside world Hitler was considered as a marvel and a wonderful example of how to rebuild a destroyed nation.

And then he went and sullied his reputation a little.
