Obviously not. Considerably better than, say, Hiddink, Porterfield, Shelitto and Blachflower (and others) for instance. Comparisons with Poch are slanted by the fact that Poch had a full pre-season and opportunity to get rid of at least some of the cancer in the Chelski dressing room, but has ultimately turned out - despite being more famous and a bit foreign, and so more acceptable the Chelski entitled and their even more entitled players - that he isn't ultimately doing any better than Potter without the same advantages.

As a coach I like Potter, but can you imagine how long it would take to get his England squad working, Not a chance. Utd if they give him the time and space he got with us, but again I doubt they will be patient.

What happens after Potter has been given time? Is this one of footballs biggest myths. After three seasons we didn’t achieve that much a mid table finish no cup runs of note despite having a pretty decent squad that RDZ got to a Europa league place at the first attempt.

I would have thought that Ajax would be a pretty decent move, assuming that this season is just a blip and not a symptom of terminal decline.

They're a massive club with huge pedigree that consistently wins the league. He'd be taking them over at their lowest ebb but could realistically expect to have them winning trophies and titles again within a couple of seasons. Do a few years at Ajax winning the league, competing in europe and his stock would be high again and he'd be much more marketable to the big clubs.

What happens after Potter has been given time? Is this one of footballs biggest myths. After three seasons we didn’t achieve that much a mid table finish no cup runs of note despite having a pretty decent squad that RDZ got to a Europa league place at the first attempt.

He was brought in to take over a lumbering defensively minded relegation battling team and turn them into something very different and do this on a budget. He left an incredible legacy judging from the games at the end of his penultimate season and the start of his last. We ended up with our, at the time, highest points tally and league position under Potter. Who knows where we would have ended up had he stayed but to say he didn’t achieve anything much is harsh.

I personally would like to see him go to a reasonably big but stable club with resources so we can truly see what he can achieve. I wouldn’t judge any manager on what they do at Chelsea, they can turn anyone into shit.

Ajax might be massive but they are an absolute mess. Their squad is dreadful , the owners are dodgy and they are flat broke. Unless they are taken over they're destined for years of rubbish. This was such an easy win for us this season.

Not a surprise he’s turned them down. Anyone watch the highlights of their 6 nil thrashing to Feyenoord at the weekend? 22 shots against them in the 2nd half alone. They have an outside chance of Europe for next season, but are awful despite having been on a good run since being in the relegation zone. They are a total mess on and off the field at the moment.
The CEO was suspended last week under suspicion of insider trading, they sacked the director of football last year amid media accusations of conflict of interests with some of the overpaid, under performing new players brought in this season, whilst having pocketed €100m in transfer fees last season for players like Kudos, Bassey, etc.
