For some reason Graham Potter is in the Falkland Islands at the moment and will be doing an open training session with some of the school kids next Tuesday.
Sadly I am away so will no get to go down and see him (despite it being 10 mins walk from my house), however I have instructed various friends to chant "stayed with a big club, you should have stayed with a big club"!

Please ensure they video his face when that happens.

Imagine going all the way to the Falklands and finding Brighton fans there (or, at least people with loyalty to Brighton fans in this case)

One of my friends genuinely passed on my "You should have stayed at a big club" message - apparently he just laughed awkwardly!

Spoke to my mate yesterday who had a long chat with Potter.
Apparently he was full of praise for Brighton and said everything was data led, well organised with a clear plan throughout the club. Said at Chelsea it was chaos with a scatter gun approach to everything. The vice chair (not Boehly) wants to control everything and was even picking the team by the end of Potter's tenure. They wanted the players they signed to have priority which meant at times some of the other players were treated badly (Tiago Silva having to get changed in the corridor for example).
Said he joined Chelsea as they sold him a long term project but when he arrived everything was different to what he had been told - was given unrealistic targets for first season (basically win everything!).
Impression my mate got was that he really regretted leaving Brighton. Said he was pleased Brighton are doing so well

Can't imagine De Zerbi letting anyone else pick the team or tell him to include certain players over others. It's fair to criticise the environment to an extent, but you also have to stand up for yourself, it's your team.

Since he accepted the job within 24 hours of being offered, it seems that he didn't do a whole lot of due diligence on the yarn they apparently fed him. For example, I might have asked for, and got them to sign, a written job description with lines of authority, areas of responsibility and performance targets clearly defined. I suspect the pound signs in his eyes affected his judgement.
