Just got an Iphone4 this afternoon but it uses an micro sim rather than the bigger one i got in the iphone3.

My Provider Virgin are sending me a new sim to fit it but can only guarantee it will on their provided phones, but "think" it will work in a 4 ???

Therefore i'm reluctant to cut my existing sim down to fit it, as if it don't work i wont be able to put it back into my 3 and i would be without a phone.

Is there a way to use the 4 without the sim? as cant get passed the start up questions as the previous owner corrected restore it back to factory setting?

Want to play with on wifi etc prior to the new sim arriving , is there a way?

Thank you apple lovers :)

I cut down my sim and stuck it in an unlocked 4s and it works fine. If not you can get adaptors on ebay to use a midget sim in a normal phone.

Yeah you can cut it down with a pair of scissors, I had to do it with my iPad... Don't know if I'd be comfortable trying to cut one to fit the iPhone 5 though

I went to a dodgy GSM shop in London Road who cut my Virgin sim down and it works a treat. Bear in mind virgin don't support the iPhone natively so you have to set up the access points etc manually... Guides are available on the net.
