Elphick at least is hardly famous for his quality passing and dribbling!

I've no doubt that Greer is a better footballer that both Cook and Elphick. However recently he has been pretty crap (that's just my opinion)

Just a quick refresher. A defender's job is to defend and he is captaining a side that comfortably has the best defensive record in the division.

IMHO he can misplace passes all he likes if we're only going to concede 0.73 goals per game for the rest of the season.

This is an absolute farce of a thread. Absolute farce. Best defence in the league COMFORTABLY, and complaints about Greer AGAIN? What are people seeing? "Misplaced passes", what has that got to do with picking defenders? This is becoming ridiculous, after every match we're getting this sort of tripe spouted about Gordon Greer, in particular. It's complete nonsense.

Best defence in the league, kept a clean sheet last night with ease and people moan about the defence!

All players go through poor form. I my opinion GG is having a slightly dodgy run passing wise. However to be fair the 1st half (where alot of his passes went off) he was given nothing to pass to short by Hammond. Normally Bridcutt fills some space infront of him allowing him to off load that way. Posh pushed up on us thus limiting the space GG had to pass into so he resorted to longer passes that are harder and which he would normally only try once or twice a half. He leads by example ad his defending has been of a consistant standard , as someone else said consistant enough for us to have the best defence in the league!

If GG was able to defend as solidly as he has since arriving, and was able to consistantly hit 50/60 yard Beckhamesque passes he wouldn't be playing for us.....!

Even if Greer was dropped for a while, Dunk & El-Abd could play with Calderon, or, even Painter, for cover.

I said it before last nights game and I'll say it again. He needs to be dropped. Against better teams we would have been punished the amount of times he gave the ball away. Dunk looked the far superior centre back last night.

Didn't win a header last night appears more intent on playing the player than going for the ball. Lucky to get away with it, again.

you my friend havent a scooby have you?the defence is solid because of the back up of our DECENT GOALIE,AND BRIDCUTT,NOTHING TO DO WITH GREER,he is easily our worst defender at present DOYOU WATCH GAMES,THIS SEASON HE HASNT BE THE SAME PLAYER AND WE HAVENT COVER FOR HIMTO BE DROPPED.

ps THIS IS THE FIRST MOAN OF A PLAYER BY MYSELF(LOOK UP IFYOU WISH),AND IHAVENT SEEN ANY MOANS ABOUT GREER TO BE FAIR,NOT GOOD ENOUGH AT THE MOMENT

The Championship.
I said last night he needs to be dropped. Been giving the ball away far too much and too slow. El-Abd and Dunk for Wolves please if Adam is fit enough.

Dont understand where you get that about Dunk from. What last night did show is that Greer makes mistakes which El Abd covers and Dunk doesnt. Dunk was a mistake waiting to happen which nearly did near the end with his irrational challenge in he back of a Borough player think it was Tomlin, and gave away a free kick just outside of the box on their right.

Well as I heard it, a centeral defender is our number one target and the sooner the better,

Gordon Greer is fast challenging Ashley Barnes as the most out of place player in the team. Way below the standard of the rest of the squad, and the stronger the squad gets, the weaker link he is looking. I can't remember the last time he actually won a header. Get pushed of the ball far to easily. And for a leader, is probably the quietest player on the pitch., unless of course he's having a ruck with someone in his own team! I bet him and Ash are the last two picked in the training five a sides
