Just seen on sky sports news that CHELSEA have mucked up their ticket allocation for the FA CUP final

In the last home programme (against Bolton) it told STH to queue up at the box office and tickets will be allocated on 1st come 1st served basis

The box office was due to open at 7am this morning

But as there were loads of people queueing up yesterday evening, it opened at midnight and sold all the tickets

People that got there at the glory hunting time of 5.30am missed out on tickets :)

now theres lots of angry glory hunters

That's scarcely mucking up. If there were more people queuing up than there were tickets available, then Chelski did the right thing.

Sound thinking if you ask me.

Didn't Bolton make a similar cock up when they were in the Carling Cup final a few years back ?

Although, i swear i read somewhere that the 28000 tickets (roughly) would be enough for every season ticket holder?

Agreed.

If those folks had been prepared to queue all night, then they still would have been ahead of those arriving at 5.30, regardless of what time they opened.

I wonder how many hundreds of them happened to be passing the ground after pub closing time though and just decided to pop in to buy a cup final ticket?

"Tickets for the FA Cup Final available from the box office are now sold out.

Chelsea Football Club would like to thank season ticket holders for their patience and apologise to those who were not able to get a ticket despite queueing.

During the night the amount of fans queueing exceeded the amount of tickets on sale from the box office so it was decided to sell the tickets earlier than the originally stated 7am time for the comfort and safety of those fans.

As a result, any fans who were not going to get a ticket from the box office still had the opportunity to purchase online.

Once again we appreciate that there is going to be disappointment, unfortunately this is inevitable given that the allocation we received is less than our season ticket holder support."

Surely they could have just got them online then?

Hmmmmm, not quite sure how that is mucking it up?

Surely even if they had waited until 7am the people turning up at 5:30 would have been so far down the queue that they wouldn't have got one anyway??

Yes and another thing, surely the people in the queue at midnight would have been ahead of the ones arriving at 5.30am anyway. I wanted to make that absolutely clear :dunce:
