What a half-arsed effort that was... played at the wrong time, hardly audible and then the prat talked over it.

I was t really sure what the hell that was all about. Only heard it somewhere in the distance at the start of the second half.

Presumably it wasn't played pre-match when the teams came out because this wasn't officially an Albion home match. Although I remember being at the SSSC Final at the Goldstone a long time ago, and it definitely was played then.

Remember lads, it wasn't our game today! All organised by the county F.A. Wait for Spurs and Donny, i'm sure it'll be done right!

It was our announcer, our PA/music operators... and it was a shambles. I will be furious if they mess it up like that again. It's not exactly rocket science, is it?

Did the club hand out an A4 sized page piece of paper and a pen to each fan,a simple series of questions and rate 1 to 10 accordingly + add comments box?

If not they should read here.

If not they should read here.

Perhaps a few special fans will be asked for their opinions?

Wasn't keen on that but then I couldn't really hear what the words were. Maybe that's why. Was it something stirring from that "Any Given Sunday' film or something, or just part of the record?

At Withdean 'Sussex by the Sea' could hardly be heard and that was understandable but at the Amex there is no excuse !

Hopefully through the clubs experience today and feedback, like from here, they may get it right by the official opening v Spurs - Hope so !

The history of SBTS was that it was written by J Ward Higgs and adopted as a quick march by the Royal Sussex Regiment at the time of the first nastiness. (1914)

The version at Withdean was, I believe, that recorded by Horsham Brass Band, may be wrong, but the tempo was correct. I think it would be good if the club adopted this or a similar version and posted the words on the big screens so that (22500 minus 2500 at the away end) could sing it - I believe that would be almost terrifying for the opposition.

PS There are a number of versions of the lyrics (words), those would have to be agreed by the club but the potential is there !

Disgraceful. Every song on the tannoy was LOUD, apart from Sussex by the sea, which was barely audible, and had Richie Reynolds talking over it just as it got to the main chorus. It's the SUSSEX senior cup final for crying out loud, sort it out!

Having said that, thankfully it was one of only a few negatives on the day!

Makes you wonder what he was playing at. Have a word in the announcers ear Tony Bloom or give the announcer his p45

here and there
I was more surprised at the announcer getting confused/forgetting the players names when announcing the line ups; was he really the permanent guy or just some stand in?
