Another alternative is not to renew season ticket:moo:

Good plan, that way I stand a chance of getting a season ticket next season.

He should try getting back to Rye in Kent after an evening weekday game. On a typical Tuesday evening, if I get the 20:19 train from Falmer I'd get in at 21:56. The next train leaves Falmer at 23:43 and gets into Rye at 05:44 (the next day).

My recommendation to the OP is to walk slowly in both directions. This will likely result in a journey time of over two hours, which he can then rightly feel aggrieved at. The down side is that he will lose a chunk of time from his busy schedule, however if he were then to spend less time on Internet message boards, he could likely strike a good balance in his life.
