The dull part of the south coast
I'm racking my brains on this one, trying to recall when we last scored with a shot from distance. All our successful efforts have been close-in. Which begs the question can anyone in the team, with the exception of Kaz, hit the target from a free kick outside the box?

Solly March's pile driver against MK Dons may have been from outside the box. Skalak & Knockers are both free kick specialists and should be able to score from well outside the box (as they have done before in their careers). You're right in general though. Perhaps we need to start scoring some more of these. I seem to recall B-Muff scoring a lot of goals from outside the box last season - it seemed to me they'd just **** the ball from anywhere and somehow it would go in.

Scalek if on would be my preferred choice to hit a free kick.
Knockhart, Stephens and Kayal have all have had decent strikes from distance as well.
All count the same though

The Stephens free kick that Hemed claimed. But I noted this shortfall as well.

Shortage of headers this season until recently and a severe shortage of near post headers as long as I can remember. Longer because I cannot remember.

40% of our shots this season are from outside the penalty area. So it is not for a lack of trying! 15 shots per game average at home = 6 a game at home.

Opposition is restricted to 48% of shots from outside the box.

Eh? The OP just asked when we last scored outside the area. I may have missed something but I don't think either a season or league was mentioned.

Everyone else is interpreting it as this season, and without wanting to be too pedantic, COC is not a league ...
... but we could surely find something better to have a proper scrap about

Fair enough. If that's how you've read it then I'm wrong and I can't name a specific goal this season outside the area but have a vague recollection of Solly March scoring a screamer. I'm too done in to have a scrap.

Just off to bed myself, but there have been more than you think:
RvlP v QPR
Stephens v R'ham (?)
Baldock v Bristol City
Both of Kayals
The March one you mention

That's six for starters

I like it the way that it is. That means we are finding ways to break teams down or play through and past them

The thread does raise another query on goals scored from outside the area. Who holds the Albion record for most goals from outsidethe area.
Paul Clark Brian Horton or a more recent player.
