Who does that remind you of? A clue they wear black and think it’s cool
Does it start with a P and end in an E?

I agree,That old participation rate thing has been dragged out for years now.
It's a meaningless stat. Yes people play it but people don't actually enjoy watching it out here in any great numbers.
The reason why it has high participation in juniors is that it's the parents who don't want their kids playing rougher sports.
A great many of those people whose kids play soccer will then go watch AFL for their sporting entertainment because the parents don't follow soccer, they follow the other codes of football or other sports.
Soccer will never get large viewing numbers out here because it's considered boring as f*** to watch by a lot of people who watch sport and secondly the whole having to have home and away fan sections at games seems like a complete and utter wanker concept out here.
And there's also lots of people like myself who follow an OS team but have zero interest in the competition out here.
Plymouth Argyle? Doubt it.Does it start with a P and end in an E?
I agree,
I do however believe that given the right decisions by those at the helm it could have a larger following than it currently has. Not up to the size of AFL any time soon.
I play football with a large number of people who, like you, love football but have little interest in the A league (I am one of those). However the amount of those people I saw at the first few Western United games in Geelong was huge. The fact was that the decisions made by Western United and the Geelong Trust (or what ever the mob who run Kardinia Park are called) meant that interest quickly waned. One example is that for the second game I had arranged to meet about 20 dads, with assorted kids and families in a certain spot. Trouble was that spot wasn't open for that game so we scattered around the stadium. We chose a different spot the next week and the same thing happened. The numbers dwindled as we couldn't get a regular place to meet and eventually people stopped bothering. I have little doubt that if we could have contonued to have somewhere to be we would have attracted more and more of the on the fence people. Eventually Western United f***ed us off as not enough people turned up and I haven't bothered travelling to Melbourne to go and watch.
The potential was there but the decisions made f***ed it up.
Ah, flares.I was watching this game the goal keeper in question appeared to throw a flare back into the stands and then it all went mental. I think the bucket was aimed at the ref and the goalie took it full in the face. Not sure why players need to get involved in flare removal in the first place.
Then goalkeepers will be banned next. Where will it all end?Club announcement next week after a discussion with Sussex police we have removed all bins from the Amex
From 5:00, countless flares.Ah, flares.
Some supporters absolutely love them.
Apparently most of the invaders came from the HORDA group of supporters, based on what many of those wearing black have on their t shirts. Copying the Bosnian Ultras I guess. Who haven't exactly got the best history with behavior and ideologies themselves over there. Tons of pictures of those on the pitch being posted around from those there.
