Did anyone else notice that when Barnes threw out the ball for a goalkick rather than back to their keeper, he already had another ball up his shirt. Never seen it before. Is it legal?

Exactly. Shame Barnes did not throw it to him. Wonder what Ref would have done?

The laws of the game do not allow a team to gain an advantage from ungentelmanly conduct, the real issue is he should not have been given another ball or able to get one barnes had the ball in his hands so there were actually two balls in play at the same time its not illegal davis wont be arrested for it but it is the sort of thing a cheat would do thankfully nothing came of it

Dive for the free kick. Looked a pretty clear dive from the South Stand.

To me just looked like one of those soft ones where the attacker deliberately runs across the defender looking for the clip on the heels which Navarro (?) could do nothing about. Think there was, very minimal, contact. No need to go down admittedly, but they always will.

This is what Law 2 says:

Extra balls on the field of play

If an extra ball enters the field of play during the match, the referee must stop the match only if it interferes with play. Play must be restarted by a dropped ball in the position where the match ball was at the time when the match was stopped, unless play was stopped inside the goal area, in which case the referee drops the ball on the goal area line parallel to the goal line at the point nearest to where the ball was located when play was stopped.

If an extra ball enters the field of play during the match without interfering
with play, the referee must have it removed at the earliest possible opportunity

So did Davis interfere with play by having the ball up his shirt in readiness for the goal kick?
