They reminded me of the band Fire Party ( all girl as well if i remember correctly )who were on dischord records years ago.

I haven't managed to watch anything from yesterday yet but from the opening 2 days my picks were Foals (who have matured into a fine, fine band), Dinosaur Jr, Portishead, Savages, Tame Impala & F*** Buttons.
Looking forward to catching Nick Cave, Vampire Weekend, The xx, PiL, Steve Mason, Cat Power, Phoenix, Bobby Womack & The Congos this week.
How many of the bands on the John Peel stage would have been approved by the great man himself? Less that 50% I reckon.

When were Haim on? I taped a lot of it but only saw them do one song in the Studio! Wish their flipping album would come out a bit sharpish...

The beauty of a multi band festival is how opinions vary. I thought that the band were musically excellent, Lydon's singing was the pits though imo
I don't know the song so it was the first time I'd heard it, my opinion may well be invalid if the vocals are supposed to be so shit. Maybe it's a punk thing, I was never a big fan.

I had a great weekend, however I thought there were some really poor decisions in the scheduling. Fancied watching Bastille, but at 7pm in the John Peel tent without any other significant acts on as an alternative it was always going to end up with twice as many as the tent could hold. Also Parma Violets and The Vaccines at mid-afternoon in William's Green was ridiculous. If I was 10 years younger I probably would have elbowed my way to the front, but those days are well behind me.

Of what I saw, Portishead and The Rolling Stones were best. Portishead in particular were incredible. Beth Gibbons singing live is untouchable.
Other good stuff: Foals, Cat Power, The Black Angels, Kenny Rogers (!), Django Django and Alt-J (secret gigs in Williams Green on Thurs night).
It is everything else away from the music that sets Glasto apart from the other festivals and makes it so special. Now going to watch everything I missed on iplayer.

Only saw a few acts on the TV can you catch them on I-Player?
Dizzee Rascal smashed it the last time I went, so would like to see how it compares, crap act, but really cant beat it for a bot of a good time and entertainment, Madness and Dizzee back to back was much fun.
This year, the chase and status crowd looked like a bunch of nobbers, and the set didnt really impress, would have still liked to have been there.
one set that did stand out for me was Rudimentals, really good IMO, soulful Drum and Base, lots of trumpets and Sax too. probably not everybodys cup of tea.
Watched Mumford and Sons close it, seemed alright, nothing special though.

Just got back from Glastonbury. One of my performances of the festival. I saw them play a small tent on Friday and they are one of the most intense and powerful bands I have seen in years. One description I heard is "they create an atmosphere of broken glass and sharpening knives." Their album is great and I would recommend it to anyone who likes post-punk. Live they are even better.
