94 and 95 look astonishing.

Did you attend both?

All 3, I missed 96 as we were gigging ourselves elsewhere and by '97 was taking a musical 'break'

Grateful I got to go before it got commercialised and corporate, I literally rode down on an old Lambretta, tent, sleeping bag, few clothes and about a hundred quid, you could get well fed cheaply by hippies, and line your rizlas with something safe!

Happy daze

'92 was awesome, musically and weather-wise. :)

We camped at the back of the NME field and literallt watched Television, in bed, twas a long time ago but seem to recall them laying Friday lunchtime?

TOm Jones we thought would be a joke but he was superb for a caned Sunday evening.

My first festival too.

My brother (then 14yrs old) has always been eternally grateful that I took him along with me.

I remember Rollins being particularly abusive towards the crowd but maybe as an ironic prelude to this song:

Which should be a certain person’s theme tune in my opinion!

Haha! Yes that was part of the act. I saw him a few times on that tour and he did the same thing.

TJ was a perfect addition to the bill.

Standouts for me were Ozrics, Spiritualized, Primal Scream, Jah Wobble and Lou Reed.

Jeez, I still remember the sunburn. :D

I think some people are just willfully ignorant, or just very old and out of touch. I'm not a fan of hip hop in general, it just doesn't connect with me but anyone with a passing interest in popular music will know who he is and the high regard he's held in.

Also it's a generational thing as the comments about the 1970 festival show(and what I'm about to post below...)

Reading used to have amazing line ups in the 90s. That Saturday main stage list is incredible.

On that Saturday list- Primal Scream headlining John Peel 28 years later this Friday. And Jarvis also playing!
