On my 17th Birthday I was taken blood doning! Been about 5 times since (I'm 19 now), not as much as I'd like to have been though. Should go more really!

Giving blood is an absolutely fantastic thing to do and has helped so many people when they've needed it, myself included.

If you can do it, please do. If I could, I'd be there like a shot.

Yes I do, not quite as many as 40 but a good few ... have been tardy this last year as van used to show up at work so quite simple. Feeling guilty, note to self get it booked next week!

I was told last month when I went to give blood again that my haemagoblin levels are too low :( Had to see the doctor about it and have more blood tests, but can't try to donate blood again for 12 months. Really gutted.

Going along to Portslade Town Hall after work tonight, to donate a pint of my best blood. Will be donation number 40.

So who on NSC is a donor?

Who gives blood for the cause?

I had an appointment at Portslade Town Hall today at 3.15pm, they were backed up by 30mins as they were short staffed and the place was packed. It was unlikely I was going to get done by 4.45pm so I had to cancel and rearrange. He said they were short staffed and that delay will last all day and might get worse. I'd take a good book if I were you!

They still have a backlog. My appointment was 6:15 & am sitting in the hall waiting. Don't mind though - spending happy time on NSC!

I would have normally, as there is always a wait, but I had an unexpected deadline and had to meet the post. Would have got through a few enjoyable chapters. Hopefully plenty of crisps, biscuits and weak squash left!

I'm glad you've posted this thread. I'm 27 and have done 24 donations. Had an appointment to go about 3-4 weeks ago but felt unwell so had to cancel. I hadn't rebooked until I saw this thread so have just got my arse in gear and booked online for a couple of weeks time
