Not exactly halfway through - first 2 minutes is noodling as they get the audio generators up and running, the next 12 minutes is as good as anything Can or Neu! did...

Ok, thanks, let me think............
Give me an orchestrated version of a song which really enhanced it.
Like this.

The irritating crowd clapping detracts from this a little. Orchestration starts at around 1 min 50

Contains filthy language and challenges to the religious beliefs of some. Don't click on it if this would offend you.

The piano version is great, but the orchestration gives it a 'Tom & Jerry' music feel that provides another level.

A little bloated at 18 minutes long, but worth a browse if you're into your 90s punk and pseudo political epics

I thought there would be more to choose from.
How about this to kick start things.

I'm not sure I get the question then. Surely this IS the song, not the orchestrated version?

I've struggled choosing because the only ones I can really think of that are regular songs that have then had an orchestrated version is when Reggae artists like, John Holt, Freddie McGregor or Luciano have teamed up with the LSO. It certainly didn't enhance the songs for me

For orchestrated versions. This is a good example of how to have loads and loads of money thrown at you and still manage to sound shite

IMHO like.

There are endless great records that involve and are enhanced by orchestration, but the question and example seemed to suggest an orchestrated version of a previously recorded song. These are thin on the ground, as putting aside quality, most of us will generally prefer the version of a song that we first heard. That's how it sounds in our head and if we fell in love with it sounding like that, then that is how we want to hear it.

If the question was actually 'Give me a song that was ehanced by the use of an orchestra, then that is subtly different from 'an orchestrated version'. The qualifying question then becomes, 'what qualifies as orchestration?' Are we looking for a traditional classical orchestra, for strings being added to rock songs like Leiber & Stoller orignated on 'Spanish Harlem?', or is the question looking for pieces that have been arranged for large numbers of different instruments that could be classed as forming an orchestra? The first question could be things like Sinatra's work with Nelson Riddle, or Randy Newman, Danny Elfman or other composers with film soundtrack backgrounds. The latter is a different request and would take me to Spector, to jazz, to Philly Soul, but most obviously to Brian Wilson, particularly Pet Sounds. You could choose absolutely anything from the album, but as an example, here is a fascinating video showing how Wilson built 'I Know There's An Answer'

How long is this particular ”give me a song” going to last for, it’s been going on since Monday

Bored with it now, announce a winner and let‘s move on

In light of the disappearing song setter’s verdict on a winner, I am taking it on myself to try and continue this thread.

Give me a song with a town, city, village, state, county, country etc in the title
