The lack of attention by other photographers to this (quite literally) landmark Falmer feature is distressing. So I nipped over recently to take a look for myself.

True, in the eight months since GTFSW #1, the earth has indeed moved. But not by very much.

Very disappointing for any intending AONB ramblers. But they can always instead just sit in the mud and gawp at the structure over the way...

Clearing up the mess will be one of the last jobs.
It's not supposed to be seen as a mess. It's all got to be lovingly re-profiled to match the surrounding landform, then topsoiled and seeded with finest downland grass before being finally approved by Falmer Parish Council, Tree-Huggers Anonymous and Norman 'Kellygate' Baker. How long's all that goiing to take?

Grass grows quickly. I reckon this time next year it'll look like a nice bit of downland.

That is what I meant by clearing up the mess. No point in doing it while work is going on. It will be done at the end. With the equipment they have a bit of landscaping will not take long.
