It was an ill-advised thread to start in the first place. A result of all day drinking on Saturday with a lock in. Getting up, still feeling pissed from the night before and starting a thread ike this was poor judgment!

If anyone thinks that Romania is 'orrible with the nastiest people in Europe, they are wrong... it is much worse.
Albania is surprisingly beautiful with nice(ish) people.
Firmly in the London is the best city in Europe camp, but Rome comes a very close second for me and I love Stockholm.
But for weather, fun, culture, diversity, beaches, atmosphere, bars, restaurants, nightlife and general niceness its Honolulu.

Agree with your sentiments about France generally, but you must have visited a different part of Le Havre to me- when I went it was drab, miserable and soulless, no character about it at all. Certainly wouldn't describe it as beautiful!

Yep, i did a bit of research about Le Havre for my dissertation last year about reconstructing cities after the war and the general consenscus from the locals was that rebuilding the place had turned it Into a complete shithole!

Yep done them all, including lucky enough to eat at El Bulli for work. Perhaps not the worst in Europe, but certainly the most over-rated in my opinion in comparison to other popular tourist destinations. Not a patch on Italy, France, Germany, or even Portugal.

I'm struggling, with where in agreeing with Commander, that London is a great city, you feel I've insulted you.

It's always the same with you. A simple debate starts with people exchanging views. You pile in with your massively over the top melodramatic opinion, then take it as a personal attack when anyone dares disagree with you.

You come out with utter nonsense, like "London isn't among the top 100 cities in the world", then accuse anyone who picks you up on it, of being a bully.
