Loads of ferries to Brac from Split. I think that more go to Bol, but I might be wrong on that. Try and go see Hvar as well f you're over there - it's lovely.

I drove around croatia a couple of years ago and it was dead easy. Flew into zadar (very cheap flight), got an internal flight to dubrovnik and then drove back. The roads were great - some nice little palces to stop off at and the wierd little border crossing wasn't a problem at all.

I did it the other way round over 2 weeks. Flew to Dubrovnik and flew back from Split.

I recommend you book your first night in Split and last night in Dubrovnik, and leave all other accomodation til you get there.

When you get to the ferry ports on all the islands, you get loads of people from hotels, and houses come up to you offering rooms, it seems daunting at first but it is so much cheaper than booking hotels there/online.

Basically you can go to peoples homes/guest houses/hotels etc and if you dont like it, they take you back to the ferry port. I never found a bad one.

Dubrovnik you will love, make sure you walk around the city walls and the old town, though it is quite a trek up some hills.

Hvar is one of the better islands, you can also hire your own motor boats and speed off to secluded beaches, some are nuddy beaches, cant remember the the term (ask Shall when you see him, he does that stuff - GHEY)

Brac was maybe my favourite, and i came to the rescue of some very attractive topless Cambridge girls after some Italians tried to grope them. Bol is the famous beach there, its a bit like a huge willy that sticks out from the island, but gets very busy

Korcula was brilliant too, the clearest waters you will experience. The water temperature is not that warm, and there are no sand beaches anywhere in croatia that I went, but it was still briilliant

Split wasnt that nice, very industrial because of the huge port, so you may not want to stay there too long as it is very dirty compared to all the coast line.

Food is quite cheap, seafood especially, and pizza.

Jadrolinja (sp) are the ferries we used, all pretty cheap and always on time, I didnt have a car, so maybe the prices will go up, but it was only about £15 a journey between islands

Have a look on my facebook if you want photos, there is an album somewhere.

Will probably think of something else soon, til then, thats all folks x

Been to Dubrovnik three times....well Cavtat to be precise....
You can get to Cavtat by boat - 30 mins from Dubrovnik.

Loved it in Croatia every time....

Do go to Montenegro - a short trip from Dubrovnik by coach
or car...an amazing place..beer is out of this world -

..........also go to Mostar if you can - a four
hour drive into Bosn/Herz- but it's worth it .......

Looks like you have the info already - but getting from Split airport to ferry port is very easy, and not expensive by bus or taxi. If you're planning to do any sightseeing at all on the mainland (in addition to Brac), I would strongly recommend a hire car, public transport doesn't serve well some of the places you'd want to see. We stayed in a little village called Vinisce up the coast a bit.

Trogir, near Split, is brilliant and has loads of great outdoor restaurants in the old town, in these sort of walled gardens.

And obviously I did have to go to the Hajduk stadium and procure myself some quality sports clothing from the shop. Being English, it was easy enough to blag your way onto the pitch because they LOVE us and our football so much...
