In the pub over the weekend up here in the Lake District, I witnessed some dramatic lad stating about the "big secret to be revealed on Monday, that will blow Liverpool FC apart".
Then of course, when said huge-secret that he is privileged to be in on is revealed as old hat, he spewed forth with it like he had only a minute to live.
So, when something is a huge secret, it spreads faster than Jordan's legs for a minor celebrity.

'Damp squib' is the old saying that applies here.

No smoke and all that ... this is a story that won't ever quite go away.

I don't know anything about the legal process of gagging orders, and why you get them for a time, or don't get them, but to "protect the FA while they decide on Capello" seems a little odd.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if something comes out regarding fall-outs in the England camp, as the mood amongst them was unbelievably poor.

You would think Capello knew nothing about this 'story', otherwise he would have made Lampard (or someone else) captain. If Capello found about this story after making Gerrard captain, he could hardly take it away when the story has not been published!

And for the sake of all supporters in this country, and again if this story is the reason behind problems in the camp, could they have not just sorted it out? Hardly the greatest collective amongst of so called world class players in terms of morale values!

Anyway, all of the above does nothing to detract how useless they were during the World Cup, tension or no tension.

The whole holding it for 2 weeks to protect the FA is complete garbage, no judge would have given such assurances and having read the John Terry judgment its safe to say that judges are not to impressed with footballers and there reasons for wanting injunctions

that is not grounds for a court to gag the press, if its inthe public interest 14 days in the future, it is now and they would refuse.
