Gerard please (by a country mile), with him in our current team we would be comfortable play offs. Lampard, although a very good footballer has always annoyed me (badge kissing etc.)

Neither does Gerrard.

I would say Gerrard just edges it.

Lampard is a quality player but I think we are seeing the best of him at the moment whereas Gerrard will get better and better, and will undoubtedly be the best midfielder in the world within the next five years.

He is as good a passer of the ball as Lampard, stronger in the tackle and covers more ground. The only thing Lampard has on him is goals.
