My comment was more a realisation that Mr B's understanding was most likely confused by alcohol; German trains are never late

The flight and train were both late - verified before alcohol consumption reached saturation point! The trains were screwed up all day, Dusseldorf airport station is undergoing redevelopment so not sure if that was the reason.
