Legendary George, better known as Dr Evadne Hinge in the hilarious and formidable comedy duo Hinge and Bracket, has sadly died aged just 78.

Wow - I assumed wrongly that he'd died years ago. Just looked him up and saw that Patrick Fyffe (the other half of the act) died in 2002. They always played a LOT older than they clearly were. I can't STAND the modern breed of drag artists (particularly the crazily OTT makeup) but always found H&B amusing - they used to be a bit of a staple of TV back in the day.
