This stuff has been getting pretty good recently, have been playing with suno, write some text and it creates a song in whatever style you want:

This prompt:

“A song about a forum called “north stand chat” about brighton football team and general Brighton news. People share jokes and their ideas on how to run the club, opinions not always correct Rock song”

My hope is that creatives will still create and perform - we still want to watch people sing and dj etc, going to a club and listening to Spotify mix has been possible for a while but hasn’t taken off.

Naive to think it will work like that. Seen emerging tech and it leaves no room for "wants". One of the big questions now is if you can change what people want or if you have to find out what they want so you can offer it before they go looking. I know a horror game in development right now that reads the retina of the eye and change the game experience based on emotional reactions read through the eyes. Will be super exciting but future isnt bright for freedom and individualism

I'm fully LUDDITE on this one. This the point I turned from young to old.

I really don't like so much AI stuff I see, even with the positive possibilities it may open up.

Matt Bellamy from Muse (absolutely the sort of person who'd be into AI) put up some clearly AI-generated art on his instagram the other day, to support some new project. He has gotten absolutely hammered in the comments for it.

Very soon its quite similar to electronic music where millions said "no its all machines were never going to accept it" but ultimately people want to feel well and not be bored and it wont matter to them if real or not

that sounds like a very creative use of technology to make an interactive game experience.

pretty sure thats been done in Korea with a virtual k-pop band.

the emphasis should be on the generative, not the AI. there's a whole lot of artifical and little intelligence, its pattern matching and repetition that churn through many iterations to generate something. there is a learning aspect in building the models, once that is done the output is formulaic and derivative. eventually the algos will consume their own material and it will degrade further. there will be a continued need to genuine creative, original content, imaginations, innovative ideas.

Saw a post a little while ago about how everyone thought AI would be used to automate work so everyone had more time for creativity and hobbies but instead we're automating creativity so everyone has more time for work.

Saw another post that a prime target for automation would be the role of the CEO. One role that earns as much as hundreds of workers would be an excellent one to make some cost savings from. Plus, who doesn't want to see a robot in a mustard jumper?
