Not quite there with my "small birds in flight" journey but getting there!

Possibly my favourite bird (well 2nd favourite after the Robin) and am lucky to have half a dozen who regularly feed in my garden. They are quite strange in that they share my pond with starlings and share the feeders with green finches.

They're so small, it's hard to notice any imperfections until you see the photos. I'll take a small vacuum cleaner with me next time I think! I didn't know whether the cobweb enhanced it or spoilt it?

So I went to see if I could find the endangered Crested Ibis at the weekend, which is about 2 hours away from where I live in China. These amazing birds can only be found in the wild in this one place in the world. I was really lucky to see about 25 of them at various times throughout the day and even found a nest with a pre-fledged juvenile and parent in it. I hope you like them.

In colour, it looks very ordinary and unappealing, but changed to black & white, it takes on a different character.

Saw this little adder just north of Shoreham yesterday eating his lunch. i heard there was an adder colony at Souhwick Hill, but it's the first time I've seen one.
