Yeah sure, which one's in particular?
Okay, I guess that's for the Friston Forest shots quoted. I'll get to it... although maybe you also meant the fly?I’d be interested in the hardware too. Camera, lens length, aperture, speed, ISO. Great pic.
In particular the fly one - I wondered what shutter speed.Yeah sure, which one's in particular?
The fly one was taken with a Pentax K5, an old (by modern standards DSLR). Shutter 1/320, ISO 1600 and that was with a Pentax Macro 100mm 'M' lens from around 1980. Annoyingly, as the lens is vintage, the camera cannot preserve the aperture. I believe it was around f11, and as they were the last pictures I took I think that's correct as a quick check shows the aperture one half click off that so it seems likely. In particular the fly one - I wondered what shutter speed.
I’ve always done video but recently bought a hybrid camera (Sony A7iv) and am working on my photography.
Am trying to get the hang of the balance between iso, shutter and aperture . So knowing camera settings / lens choice for Photos added to this thread is good learning
I’ve quite a few of these in the back garden….u can have them for free…collection only…should just take the hour removing them all…i understand they’d be quite happy to pose…bit of a slow mover thoughLove the metallic look of the snail's body.
Fuji X-T200 7Artisans 60mm 2.8 macro.

Foreground interest.Having seen this on the news, I wondered - Why can't they just walk to the end of the screen, or travel a short distance for a better shot? Where everyone was standing taking photos had what looked like a Japanese Yen shop, and a block of flats cluttering the view.
Amazing shots!Meanwhile - back here in Blighty - just five minutes walk from my house, in a small park.....
