Pound falling which used to be a sign according to remainers that a bad democratic choice has been made .. now apparently irrelevant?

Arrogant pri*k Angus Robertson kicked out a silver lining.

Laura Keunnsberg just announced Tory HQ conceded they wouldn't do better that the Exit Poll then within seconds the Exit Poll gets revised and gives the Tories 8 more seats. Theresa May's hopes dependent upon Scots voting Tory.

Yeah, I'm on ITV at the moment.

Maybe I shouldn't have said "stupid" earlier, but it's certainly naive to assume a result that mirrors the exit poll makes for a strong Brexit negotiating position for the UK given the timescales involved and the massively different agendas of the parties involved, and the heavyweights of Osborne and Balls have just said the same.

I think the presumption that a "strong" negotiating position is required may be questionable, because it assumes an adversarial "negative sum game" type negotiation. There may be alternatives which don't start from that position, and out of which both sides can gain through mutual interest, in which case a more conciliatory negotiating position might even be a better one one to begin with.

The pound already in decline as a labour government looks possible...

Don't be silly.... it's the uncertainty and the fact it is likely to not be a majority government...

Just to add... if it was the other way around i.e. Labour were in government and then in a general election the tories stopped the labour majority you would see a weakened pound. Nothing to do with the parties.

OK I'm done. Theresa May has definitely buggered up Brexit. In my opinion the UK is now F**ked. The EU will walk all over us and the socialist lefties will open our doors and spend money willy nilly. The referendum, although won democratically is dead. Well done politicians on making us a total laughing stock. Congrats to the remainers on your prolonged campaign. Now you wont get me bleating and trying to overturn the democratic vote it's what the country wants. So be it. I am off to bed.
