definatley an option worth considering. but when you see he was the top goalscoring midfielder from all teams in qualifing then it shows just how important he is.

Not to mention that he is the team captain and has by far the best completed passes ratio for England as well !!!

Beckham on the bench, muppets :D

I also dislike the Nevilles but agree that Gary has been brill in this tournament.
Also think Scholes is starting to come good after a poor first two matches

Neville had a shocker of a season for Man Utd, well second half anyway. And I will never forget how he reacted to being sent off the cup tie against Man City, he was acting like a spoilt kid and it was pathetic

oh yeah scholes has been shocking but is slowly improving game by game and his goal against croats will do him a world of good.

Yes, a big thumbs up for Gary Neville as also Ashley Cole who I thought played his socks off as usual.
I gotta say that I still cringe when ever the ball goes any where near Mr Calamity!

old calamity had a very good game against croatia i thought. but i do worry about him still.

GN has had a great tournament. He has always received a lot more shite from the fans than he deserves. I am sympathetic to the idea of his becoming captain - he is hugely respected in the game, not just among the England players, at least in part for his work with the PFA.

I guess he has to be to make up for his brother Phylis Snivel
