Just saw ex-Albion legend Gary Stevens being interviewed over the plight of hapless Spurs. He said when players are more interested in the highlights in their hair or their Alice bands then he despairs of it all.

Have you seen his barnet ?

Good player but he is a prick I think.

I say he is a bit of a prick for his comments on the modern day player at Spurs not caring about results and worrying that they might mess their hair up. (he dies his hair BTW)

Thats just silly.

One of Brightons most overated players as well.

gary stevens even when he was a relative kid at the albion was the nicest most approachable human being, always happy-perhaps keen-to talk to fans and especially the more disadvantaged.
gary has given time and support to disabled charities without any attempt to exploit his efforts.
leave him alone

Just saw Albion legend Gary Stevens . . . . . . . . Good player but he is a prick I think.

. . . . .and if you have the audacity to call this man amongst men by that description, then you are the most ignorant, biggest seeyounexttuesday that was ever born.

If this is meant to be a wind up, then I have bitten big time. Go forth and multiply Curly.

He was a class player and that's why he made a World cup finals with England.

I had the privelidge of seeing his debut and also his 1st ever goal, both against Ipswich, the team that rejected him. Bobby robson was the ipswich manager and recommended him to Albion and it was Robson who later picked him for England.

Yes Robson was the Ipswich manager, but Grease came to Brighton because of the friendship of Ken Craggs (Muller's assistant) and Gary's father. They played together for Hillingdon. Robson was dithering, and wouldn't give an answer as to whether Gary was to be given a pro contract at Ipswich. His dad contacted Craggsy and he brought him to the Albion.

He did the V`s up to Bobby Robson after he scored against Ipswich as a 17 year old I think but did apologise afterwards. Lets face it when Robson let him go fron The Town he had Butcher and Osman ahead of Grease.

ps Ward was too easily knocked off the ball and Zamora couldn`t finish.

People in Tunbridge Wells reckon he struts around doing the 'johnny big bananas' I dont know havent seen him about TW. I was in Ken Craggs pub, the Duke of Edinburgh in Barnes, with Ken, the day he signed for Spurs.

I live in TW and see him about. He doesn't at like BBB, but he did save the local football club and then got nothing but stick from certain groups about how he was being cocky about it - the guy put his own time and money in and just ended up getting fried - makes you wonder about some people. They just a bunch of selfish takers.

Sounds like jealously to me seeing as he's been succesful outside of football.

I did speak to someone who knows him from Tunbridge Wells and they said he was a really nice bloke.

Speaks a lot of sense to me and I like listening to his input on things on the radio.
