Gary Dicker, is in my opinion, not terribly good.

Dicker had a bad game Tuesday...but even then he made the first goal, and did not give up. Gus has stated that Gary knows exactly how to play his style, and this is the reason that Gus plays him as much as he does. I believe Gary is probably one of the most intelligent and clever footballers we have...he makes breathtaking turns, and what he does with his body usually outwits the opposition more than what he can do with the ball. Not only can he pass, he is the BEST passer on the team...his through balls and pinpoint passes have always been his best attribute.

Every player has their weaknesses, and I think his three are: 1) pace 2) tackling 3) preference not to shoot - (his strike against Exeter shows he can smash them in but he always looks to pass rather than shoot)

Dicker is my favourite player and I hope he plays for us for many years to come.

Of course 'passing ability' isn't any good in isolation, and needs to be married to all manner of other attributes, but technically, the three players with the BEST range of passing at the Albion, are Vicente, Gary Dicker and Ryan Harley.

No reason for him not to be. It's only idiots thta want to get rid of him (and sign half the Peterborough team instead).

The key part of that message he gave, which gives me a little hope, is "stronger". Ok, he'll always slither at a snail's pace, but he was too easily brushed off of the ball, so if he pumps himself up and becomes a rocklike figure, then great, it gives him a chance of fitting into an improving side.

Without wanting to sound rude, if we are serious about wanting to make a challenge for bigger things next season then there's a lot of mediocre players currently flirting with our current 16 man match day squad that are simply not good enough and on recent performances Dicker is one of them (but he's not alone, there's several more), if he's not fit then that begs the question what the hell was Poyet doing bringing him back into a play off chasing squad?...

You're quite right. I mean - we have only not won any of the last 10 games he has been in the starting line up, 11 if you include West Ham at home, picking up a MASSIVE 5 points along the way. It can't possibly be anything to do with him, his dynamism and speed on the ball are a sight to behold. In fact, at times he has looked like our only threat. And don't get me started on his tackling! You would have to be an idiot to want rid of this JONAH from the good-ship Albion.

This is what I am unsure of. Can't work out if he actually believes he was good enough to walk straight back into the team, or he believed we weren't going to make the playoffs and so was giving him a last chance to show what he's made of before making a decision on him in the summer. Really hope it's the latter.

I think it’s the former to be honest. He was a key creative force at the beginning of the season and maybe Gus was trying to see if he could provide that link with CMS again. Personally think he's very good going forward but just gives the ball away too much. I think his mistakes are more obvious than others and he has been a bit maligned in my opinion.
