Dunno if this has been said before, but Gannon was offered a 250k contract, and has now been offered 500k. This is the hold up, as he is thinking it over.

If true regarding Gannons 'contract' it seems a crazy amount of money for a L1 manager.

Still if it keeps us up!

I would hazard a guess that the pay is 'performance related'.

He turned us down before saying he was commited to stockport and hes family didn't want to move south.

So he comes in a double your money deal is he coming to do hes 100% best for Brighton or coming for the money? and what stops him buggering off if hes offered a better deal in 6 months time.

I've gone from being quite enthusiastic about landing Gannon to being quite apathetic about it. It sounds like he might be taking the job purely for the money, not sure that's the sort of motivation that's going to be good for the Albion?

Loyalty has it's price again it would seem, unimpressed.

How is it 'crazy' when nobody knows what length the contract is, and it is almost certainly a completely fabricated rumour

the compensation would be much higher on 500k than 250k I suppose and if that happened we would be safe and looking good for 09/10

The length of the contract is as significant as the salary. £500,000K may be too much if we end up having to pay off 18 months, but could be acceptable in conjunction with a 6-month (or less) rolling contract.

feeling a little like this myself,I was very keen after hearing an interview with him and there did not seem to be any grey areas with him he called it just as it was .........but this really has made me a little less impressed.
500k might just salve the whole thing if he keep us up and we are bucking for promotion next season though and it would be worth every penny,it would not stop me having that little niggle in the back of my mind though.
like the one I had about MA coming back for seconds a la Mullery
