Huge punt on Flaming Spear running for Tony Bloom and trained by Kevin Ryan in the 4.30 Newcastle. Backed off the boards, came from last to win with a late rattle. A few more quid for the Jan transfer coffers....

Missed break, took keen hold, held up in last place in centre of group, not clear run from over 2f out to inside final furlong, switched right and quickened smartly to lead near finish (op 7/1 tchd 11/4)



Sounds as though everything that could go wrong, did go wrong ... and it still had plenty in hand. Nicely done.

They went no pace so missing the break a fraction made no difference, the gap came nicely too. That's not to say the horse didn't do the business
