Just had a flashback from Foals last night when the bassist climbed a speaker stack and managed to jump up and drag himself onto the balcony with his guitar and play it whilst dancing through the crowd upstairs before jumping down the other side and back onto stage for the end of the track. What stage antics have you seen that made you do a  ??

At Knebworth years ago, a guy ran on stage between acts stark naked and started wanking. One of the security guys ran up behind him and pushed him off stage, it was a comical moment but I guess not that funny for him I think he broke a leg

I saw Mark Omerod absolutely out of his nut at a Charlatans gig in Pompey about a week or so after we stayed up at Edgar Street. I had a brief conversation with him and it had to be brief as there was not point it being any longer because he was babbling nonsense!!

On a point of pedantry it was the singer/guitarist not the bassist. The scary bit was when he stood on the balcony wall before jumping off.

The only thing which springs to mind is seeing a distress flare fired at Motörhead many years ago. It went across the crowd low, and like an Exocet and smashed into their amps. Suffice to say Lemmy was not amused.

Just been corrected by a mate that it was the singer. I blame sambuca for that error.

I remember years ago going to a gig at Brixton Academy, the support act was complete shit and the singer loved himself so much he decided to stage dive and the crowd moved out fo the way so he landed splat on the floor, he then carried on singing lying flat on his arse and then lcimbed back over the press pit and while he was climbing over someone in the crowd pushed him and he then landed on his arse in the press pit before getting back on stage and walking off there and then.

Most of the crowd were laughing.

Can't remember who the band were but I think they were Supporting someone like Carter, Neds Atomic dustbin or senseless things. That era.

Watching the Vandals at the dome about 10 years ago, scrabbled my way on to the stage to dive just as they finished a song, it all went quiet, I looked stupid, and I leapt into what I thought would be a appreciative crowd - sadly eveyone moved out the way and I landed bellyflop style on the floor.

pain.

About six years ago Travis came to The Brighton Centre (quite a good a good gig, aside from this anecdote). During the final chorus to 'Why Does It Always Rain On Me' Fran (the Singer) stuck his microphone into the crowd, right in front of me and my friend Steve.
Luckily enough we remembered the words. Though the look of bewilderment on Fran's face after two young men Shouted (not sung) the words is etched permanently in my mind...

Good Times!

Few of my mates went to a Zutons (I think) gig in Brighton, a good few years ago, and stole their song sheets from the stage before they came out. They had to confirm between themselves each song for the rest of the night. They also tried stealing their 'lucky mascot' from the stage, but either gave it back, or had it taken off them. It was later reported in a magazine, NME or similar.

Doctor and the Crippens (I think) were supporting Extreme Noise Terror at Zap few years ago. The lead singer would place a cabbage on top of his hat, then he'd connect two wires to a battery and the cabbage exploded across the stage and crowd.

Was at the concorde2 when a 2nd or 3rd support band was playing with a not very full crowd and the singer starts chucking out copies of their CD to the audience, and as each one flew into the air people stepped aside and watched as each one crashed to the floor . Was funny to watch.
