On top of the world
Who was it who put all their eggs in the european basket? Was it Burnley who found that their prem form plummeted. ( or was it Leicester).

I would take 12th now

let’s hope we don’t get thumped in Rome and try to bring them back here for a competitive game we can win
Unless there's a real improvement in our performances, 12th is looking our most likely finish tbh.

There is a big difference between parking the bus and playing effective counter attacking football against a high possession based team.
We are too dismissive of this style of play, because we don't play it.

I love counter attacking football. Defenders hate it.

RDZ over time (the injuries?) has given us a touch of the Potter’s. Everyone bar CP and Wilder have all the time in the world to defend against us.

Sadly, there is an increasing element of entitlement, over expectation and plasticity on here.
Not entitlement. Just expect a bit better which we've shown plenty of times this season with all the injuries. I remember very well the performance against spurs at home albeit they came back at us last 10 mins but for 80 we were excellent. Roberto had answers but it seems he doesn't now.

I would include Solly as well. We've missed him a lot.
We are missing Gilmour too - he’s a bit like the noise of a fridge in the background- you don’t notice it until you realise how quiet it is.

Thank goodness red cards don’t carry over to UEFA matches.

We have a very tough run in of games in the Prem. However, I can see us causing some upsets in the title race if we are out of Europa and concentrate solely on our league matches. If we are still in the Europa in the latter stages then we might finish 12th indeed.

Not great.
For me it's the mental side of things that's really dropping off
Lack of application.
Lack of focus.
Lack of bravery.
Lack of confidence.
A growing trend during periods of many games this season and especially of late.
Hmmm...then for me there's something not right behind the scenes: there was a lot of talk from the squad and RDZ about how great it is to have the experienced Lallana, Milner and Welbeck around, about how much steel they are bringing to support the players during our busy schedule etc.
Maybe they're trying their hardest...but...
This season is reminding me of West Ham's last year.

Not dismissive at all. Of course Fulham and Wolves are decent outfits who play a different type of attacking football, but out of possession it is a low block similar to bus parkers.

Its the low block that has cost us far too many crucial points this season

And pace-power from KO (get in their faces, don’t let them breathe) … Luton. Arse, Villa.

The trouble is that if we're not in Europe next season, it's going to have a knock on effect on our recruiting come the summer.
Dog shit, 50 plus shots past three games for 1

Agreed, counter attacking football is fast and exciting. We have reverted to Potterball at its slowest. Brentford are getting goals from Maupay by getting the ball forward quickly

I thought RDZ had told us to raise our expectations?
I'm remembering the same. He said to aim as high as we can,and frequently bigs up our squad and individuals ("he deserves to play at Champions League level" ... well, maybe mainly said for the two midfielders we've lost plus Dunky 🤣,)
