Compared to the abuse that players get at matches this is insignificant. Butters is a professional athlete, and as such has a responsibility to look after his physique, and is amply rewarded for doing so. He has clearly failed to keep his body in shape, and therefore can hardly whine when he takes some teasing for it.

I cant help but feel sorry for the guy, yes hes not the best player we have had, but it was 'Tinslehead' that signed him, surely he should take some of the flack.
I dont think that publicly humiliating our players is the best way forward, who is going to want to join us if they see this kind og behaviour.

Funny though:lolol:

I'm awaiting the Ginola-esque come back at Oldham where Butters scores a hatrick takes off his shirt (showing rippling muscles and a slim waistline) and jumps into the raptorous albion contingent sparking a riot with the jealous Oldham fans....well one can dream.

If he does that St Johns Ambulance will have a busy day fishing out the steamrollered victims:ohmy:

Rumour has it that the new away shirts are being delayed because Errea do not have one in his size as Billy Smarts Circus are using it for their Big Top over the summer

I think that it is a diabolical insult to the man. He came to us as panic buy by Hinshlewood and was obviously not fit having done no pre season training with anyone. He let himself down by his own standards and went out on loan to Barnet and if SC thought that he was that bad he wouild have got shot of him at the end of last season as per Kitson. However, he has returned done his preseason training and looks a vast improvement on last season. Being natuarally left footed I can see him taking the place of Dean Blackwell initially and we shall then have the chance to give a fair assessment of his ability. GIVE HIM A CHANCE !!!!

He was not released at the end of last season because he signed a two year contract when he came from Gillingham, whereas Kitson had a one year contract plus a one year option, which was not taken up by the club.

At Oldham he will be given a fair reception by the crew, football dressing rooms are notorious for mickey taking, so it will not be new to him.

This is a clever photo...as you can see...the way it has been taken makes it looks like butters is moving. When in fact someone has just shouted "Lard for sale...get ya lard"...and he is looking round astonished.

Sponsoring him would be a good touch, but I would imagine that someone else may have done so already.

It should be checked out, though. I might even add a few of my hard earned beer vouchers if it's done.

I think it's great this has hit the tabloids. There is no downside, he was shit, is shit and will be shit in the future, and has no valuable contribution to make to the Albion.

Moreover, I think it puts us, the fans, in a good light. We may have been relegated, we may play on a cowfield and watch the game from glorified scaffolding but we still retain a sense of humour...

Spot on, Pavillionaire.

He thoroughly deserves this most public of humiliations. Perhaps it'll be the kick up the fat arse he needs. Yes he was out of shape when he first came here as a panic buy, but that was ONE YEAR ago.

He's done it at the highest level with Spurs and Portsmouth and there's no reason why he can't be good for us, except that he's a fat f***.

He's also the highest paid at the club, which takes the piss.

As you may have gathered, I have absolutely no sympathy for the bloke.

I dont know how he will handle it but at the end of the day he can do one of 2 things;

1. Go into a sulk a la Kitson, not acknowledge the fans, pick up the money and sit out his contract & play for Crawly next year.

2. Get down the Gym, Lay off the pies & prove us all wrong & earn a new contract.

As Martin Luther King said ' The true test of a man is not how a man performs in times of convienience and comfort but how he performs in times of adversity'

Crikey - Never thought I could associate Butters and MLK.

Serious question: would you tell him that to his face?

Also, for those blaming Hinsh (again), Taylor tried to sign him for us long before Hinsh actually did.
