Really Really looking forward to the game vs France. I reckon we are capable of winning the Grand Slam and holding our own in the World Cup. 1st time for years I've felt good about the England rugby team. Whatever the French say they are f***ing intimidated by Twickenham when England are on song. They also LOVE Johnny Wilkinson, haven't yet heard a Frenchman say a word against him and I spend loads of time in France.

Not sure we need firing up for this one tbh

You're right. But that has nothing to do with it. He hasn't said anything you could disagree with. You can dislike it by all means, but nothing he says is outlandish.

In fact, he's fairly reasonable and respectful.

The problem with the rest of the UK is you are just all jealous of your big brother....far superior in almost all things apart from in your case, carol singing, where you wipe the ground with us, but we just take the hatred from our poorer relations on the chin and deliver on the pitch where it matters....

The froggy git should realise if it were not for us given the free french a home during the WW2 and blowing the Luftwaffe out of the sky, he would now be speaking Kraut and wearing jackboots, European harmony my arse.

I have no real knowledge of whether what Lievremont says is factual or not, but expect most of it is true. We are generally a very "superior" nation whether this is justified or not and have a large amount of self belief (we expect to win every football wordl cup).
Nothing wrong with this, and nothing wrong with the other 5 nations always wanting England to be beaten, it's not as if they want to start a war with us!

Yep, Livremont has said nothing that we all know. We are probably the most hated nation in all of Europe.

Dont worry about it, be proud, its better than being insignificant.

I disagree, believe it or not there is still a residue of goodwill towards us leftover from ww2, aside from the celtic nations , the only country that really hates us is france , due to us having beaten them in countless wars and being a major part of the alliance that bailed them out of the shit in both world war one and two .
Q.) Why does the Champs Elysees have trees down both sides?

A.) So german soldiers can march in the shade

With the recent performaces of England rugby, they could pick a best 15 of the other 5 nations and I still dont think they would get near us.......world cup year and again we look to be getting it right whilst the other Northern Hemisphere sides "peak to early" about 2 years too early!!! England win there group (only really the Argies who look a force, Scotland will be hammered by 40 odd points) and another final beckons i reckon

I think there's still a good deal of respect and gratitude to the armies who liberated France, there are plenty of roads named after US and British army generals etc., I used to live in the l'Avenue de Winston Churchill!

I don't expect them to give me any special gratitude though, I wasn't born until 1976.

It's the age-old problem that the French have against the Anglo-Saxons. They distrust our adherence to rules, our work ethic, our food, our humour, the hours we keep, the way we treat our children, the way we keep our pets, our attitude to our country, the fact that we bail them out and prop up their chaotic culture. They really hate that we queue. They love the Celts because they know the Celts are as shambolic as the Latin types. And the Celts hate us too. They hate that English is the Lingua Franca (pun intended) in diplomacy and business and aviation and whenever foreigners choose to speak with other foreigners. The only reason the EC is in existence is to stop the German from picking on the French and what was the first thing the French did when it was formed - they tried to prevent the British from joining. They're still doing it now. They hate that we invented all the major global team sports and all they have is tennis - and even then the number one tennis venue in the world is in England.

They envy our ability to fight and fight to win, our fraternity and inate sense of fairness, the fact that we regularly beat their arses whenever and wherever we choose to, we are bigger than them, we are better than them. We know it, they know it, they know we know they know it.

Tough shit Johnny Frenchman.
