Wherever The Mood Takes Me
Has anyone looked into this free laptop deal that PC World are doing at the mo. It seems too good to be true but after briefly looking into it it seems there are no catche. Has anyone examined it properly by any chance??

I realise you have to take out 24 month contract with orange broadband (around £330 I think)

The problem seems to be Orange Broadband, I know three people who have it and they are not at all happy.

Aah right. Even so, if Ive worked it out correctly even if you dont use the broadband they offer much, it would be like paying for the Laptop over 24 months interest free with the option of using a pretty crappy ISP if you really wanted to.

Still cant be bad can it.

- 256mb RAM :thud:
- Only comes with XP
- 40gb Hard Drive

So basically, this laptop is perfect for anyone not planning to use it

I've had an Orange Livebox for 4 months now, no problems at all.

I think Carphone Warehouse are setting up a similar deal as well

my orange is great................and free

I'm sure you're right but I have only heard bad reports about Orange. Mind you I have Talk Talk here who are supposed to be dreadful but I've never had a problem with them.

I think you can get £300 off ANY laptop with this offer. Currys are doing something similar as well. Basically you are just paying the £300 off the laptop in interest free paymants and getting the first 2 years internet for thrown in for £30.

I'm with Orange broadband, and excluding the ridiculous delay in originally setting it up, I've had absolutely no problems at all. Oh, and I don't technically pay for it, as it's covered by my mobile contract.

considering you can buy a decent laptop for 350-400 anyway, i wouldnt want the hassle of being tied to an ISP for 2 years.

I have been with Orange broadband for a massive 7 hours and 30 minutes.

I haven't had any problems yet...
