Free Kicks

We now have Kayal blasting free kicks. I have only seen this work once Lua Lua at Charlton. In last few years have seen Foster Caskey,, March Holla try to get up and over wall to no avail. The latter is the way most success is gained looking at TV. However we don't seem to have had anybody since Watson and Wikins that has this ability

A young chap called Solly knocks them in the top corner when playing for England U21's I recall, however greedy Kayal takes them all at his club

Face it, we don't really know what to do with free kicks on the edge of the box. In Withdean years, Chippie used to just blast them into the net, a free kick on the edge of the box was more often than not worth a goal. Nearest we've had ever since those past ten years has been a sideways slip to KLL to belt. Like corners, its an area of play that could reap a massive reward with a bit more focus, to state the bleeding obvious to those Highly Paid Professional Managers who for some reason or other seem not to have noticed.

As I've mentioned on another thread regarding corners, it's one part of our game that is blatantly lacking, a dead-ball specialist is required but one who will also fit seamlessly into the present squad, let's hope Chris Hughton and the scouts have someone in mind as this will add another string to our bow.
