Akinbiyi is 36 in October. No point in that one.

Grant Mccann is on that list, left sided midfielder, scores quite a few goals, was at Scunthorpe. Cant understand if they have, why they'd release him.

Norwich have released Gary Doherty. He could be a useful, experienced centre half signing

John Otsemobor been released from Saints, previously of Norwich. Hoyte, but better. ie can run quick and is just about capable of defending.

Few on my wishlist:

Lloyd James (Saints)
Jon Otsemebor (Saints)
Casper Ankegren (Leeds)
Gary Doherty (Norwich)
Grant McCann (Scunny)

If we can snap those up, then splash the cash on a striker and maybe another winger to be sure, I can see a very strong side for us next year.

Grant McCann is superb. Genuinely surprised he's been released!

Appears he is only on that list while his contract is sorted out. He is Adkins' main focus in terms of getting him to sign for next season, and appears he has/will be offered a contract.
Sky Sports | Football | Championship | Iron to offer contract renewals
He is JUST what we need on the left hand side, a goalscoring left midfielder. Exactly the kind of player we should be going after, and i wouldnt be suprised if we could better Scunthorpes offer.

Pity but agree 100% that he is the type of player we should be looking at maybe offer McNulty as bait?

I don't know how much Ade Akinbiyi was on at Notts County but it was a few grand a week - ridiculous for League Two and he couldn't even break into the first team. Their perilous financial situation is down to 'football manager' type signings like him.

I dont think we'd have to pay anything for him do we? As he's over the age of 23 and out of contract. The money we'd save on transfer fee's, could be used to offer him a decent wage, and lets face it, with the greatest of respects for Adkins, Scunthorpe are never going to get anywhere above where they are now.
Mccann is exactly what we need.

Explain? Gets pretty annoying when 99% of your responses are simply a smiley.

Its because I've said it about 50 thousand times before, all have been released by clubs in this league, we need better than that I'm afraid, plus there is no way Gus would go for those players as they do not fit in with the way we play.
