Tommy did throw a chair because it was mentioned that if they couldn't find a suitable player over the summer to cover midfield would he like to come back for a trial at the club - He's been he 11 years why would he need a trial - the clubs/Dicks offer was an insult AGAIN

Captain? That would be an interesting one given both the current captain and vice captain are still with us.

I like the sound of Hinsh - we were going for a lad from Morecambe who follows the Vale and had all but signed for us but it's all gone quiet since Adams took over.

What do you think of your new captain (you read it here first) saintvaliant, and how are your former captain and vice captain doing?

It was a shame that Vale wouldn't take a chance on Hinsh with his injury history. The Shots did, and yet another former Albion player is captain of a Div. 2 side. You may see why Micky was interested in him next Saturday.

You're a sad young sod, aren't you Tom? Does being miserable keep you happy? (Waits for fifty paragraphs from Tom justifying his remarks.)

Frase has done well so far - still looks a little short of match fitness having missed a chunk of pre-season. Fooking awesome captain though - always getting the lads going.

Former captain is on the bench, former vice captain is on fire with 5 in 8.

Loft is also starting to shine - Man of the Match last week, and close to it on Saturday.

Hinsh is now injured apparently so we won't get to see what we missed - a shame as he's been giving a pen a week away.

Oh, and Adams is verging on the second coming of Christ levels of popularity. :lolol:

All in, very pleased at the moment but it's early days yet.

I bloody hope you're right. Lumped a fiver on Port Vale to be promoted at 16/1 last night:laugh:

Glad to see Micky has found a level he's comfortable in. Hope he uses his time at Vale to kick start his managerial career.

Your gain is our loss. We've really missed Fraser and Loft despite replacing them with supposedly 'better' players.

Slade releasing Fraser was an absolute howler and was Sullivan. These 2 decisions made me question whether Slade knows what the f*ck he is doing.

Shouldn't have let Fraser go from what I saw (3 or 4 games), but then again there may be more to it. Loft was average. Great to hear Micky doing well though - fookin rubbish for us 2nd time round, but I'm sure he's a more than adequate League 2 manager

Fraser and Loft was both poor. At the end of last season (even when Slade had them playing their best ever) they were the two weak links in the team. I have no doubt that the midfield we currently have will be better (as they are starting to show).

Sullivan was released because Slade wanted to bring in a second experienced keeper and from the game and a half I have seen of Smith, despite the number of goals he has conceded, he looks good. I don't understand people's problems as I think we have replaced all the players who were released in the summer with better players.

Missing Loft ? We have really missed Loft ? what really ?

Blimey Brovian - I hope the lad does well but he looked very one-paced and light-weight on the occasions I saw him.

Yeah, ok, I'll grant you Loft. Fraser though is a definite loss. But it's like Heskey for England isn't it? On the face of it a team with Fraser and Loft in midfield should be weaker that a team with, oh I dunno, Crofts, Tunnicliffe, Navarro or Cox in midfield - but unless I've been living in some wierd parallel universe it plainly isn't.

Tommy Fraser was released for reasons related to behaviour off the pitch.

He was integral to our survival in the division at the end of last season, and was improving as a player. Good luck to him at Vale - he'll likely do well there and may have learned from his experience here, to their - and Adams' - benefit.
