This is on the MK Dons official site:

Let's all hope they now sink into oblivion without trace ...

Wrexham's admin woes

Wrexham were expected to go into administration yesterday (Wednesday) to avoid an Inland Revenue winding up order resulting from unpaid taxes of almost £1m.

It is expected that, as a consequence, the club will be deducted 10 points following FA regulations recently introduced to discourage clubs from taking this course of action. This would reduce their points tally form 21 to 11, sending Wrexham plummeting down the table to 23rd and so moving Milton Keynes Dons up a place.

In an ironic twist, Dons scouts are likely to join those from a host of other clubs at the Racecourse Ground in the coming weeks.

Does the presents of 'Dons' scouts mean they are looking to raid Wrexhams players should everything go tits up?

still thats hardly the attitude to take is it? we all know that were it not for Doncaster being shitter than us a few years back we would have been out of the league yet we still found compassion for their cause.
it makes me think that winkleman et al see this as some form of vindication to their cause.

To be honest I think you are overeacting. As I read it, they are just stating the facts, at no point are they going ha ha to Wrexham.

I think peoples love in with Wrexham and dislike of what MK Dons are is getting in the way of objectivity here.

On the face of it, its all a bit distasteful, kind of like the vultures circling the ground. But the reality is that the administrators are actively looking for ways to keep Wrexham in existance, and to that end, they will NEED other clubs scouts at the Racecourse with a view to buying the players.

This is the normal course of things, but I hope Wrexham at least get offered a fair price for some of their more saleable player assets.

Ok so if we're all agreed that it is acceptable, what have they got that we need?

Not really, mate. Wrexham's plight is down to one man who's trying to sell their home. They need support from all football fans as it could happen, and has happened, to many other clubs.

It's about solidarity, camararderie and compassion, the old cornerstones of football as we (used) to know it. The fact that MK Dons may gain a few points is a complete irrelevance compared to the potential downfall of a great old club.

Fourhtteamtillidie hit the nail on the head with his comparison to the Donny situation in '98.

It's a cold and uncaring piece. Not one ounce of sympathy.

Unfortunately, its US that basically havn't got what they need, ie cold hard cash.

I'm sure there are some players in the Wrexham squad who could do a job for us, but as we don't have diddly-squat to offer in transfer fee's, then all we have to offer is our moral support.

thats where we differ i would argue mk dons lost the right to

impartiality when they upped sticks and moved away from their

fan base.

i dont feel i'm over reacting i dislike what they did, are and stand

for and as such feel this is inappropriate behaviour.

previously i had no reason to like or dislike either of these two

clubs but feel that whereas there is something to fight for with

Wrexham, MK Dons is a lost cause.

What Wimbledon did was wrong, but maybe their fans gave up too soon? At the end of the day in 1997 we could have formed AFC Brighton and let Archer wind the club up, but we fought to the bitter end. Now I know the situations were different. However all that aside, if they have cash in the bank, then they are entitled to bid for other teams players and that is what they will look to do. The fact that they are at knock down price is not the fault of MK Dons, just like the crusades is not their fault.

That is standard behaviour as it happens at all clubs that go into administration.

West Ham took Reo-Cokker (sp) from Wimbledon last season for bugger all when they were in administration.

We ended up with half their team m8...Reo coker, jobi mcanuff, David Connelly and Adam Nowland.

So, when my granny died and I inherited enough money to buy a colour TV, should my first reaction have been "Whoopee! I'll get a new telly"?

Just stating the facts and how it affected me? Bollocks.

That's exactly how I felt when I first read the piece .... it had an aura of gloating all about it ... and the sad irony is it is MK Dons!
