Probably been discussed but

He has had a whole season to stake his claim. He has not progressed . Yesterday he looked so so out of his depth.

Is there any point in keeping this player ?

I'm sure a couple of strikers will be on the shopping list this summer

Yes and No. He is the wrong type of player to be considered as a regular starter, he is just a 6 yard box poacher/impact player.

But if you are chasing a game, he could offer something in last 10 minutes, Is that worth a new contract..... probably Not.

Was only on the pitch for 7 minutes but that was more than enough to show how far out of his depth he was.

Sure he might be good around the 6 yard box, but in a Gus team you need a great deal more than that.

How ridiculous - why do we have this crap from our so called fans every time we lose, why do some have to turn on our own players?

Stats in yesterdays program

Shots on Target - Sandaza 48% (highest for an Albion player)
Barnes 43.2%
Sparrow - 42.9%

Shots per goal - Sandaza 5.0 (equal top)
Calderon 5.0
Barnes 6.9

Goals / assists per game - Sandaza 1.3 (highest for an Albion player)
Lua Lua 1.1
Noone 0.8

What more do you want from a back up player?

Re the Southampton game - don't you think he could have been less effective because we weren't creating anything because Southampton were pressing hard and he was isolated

Lol, this thread proves fickle football supporters really are.

No it doesn't, it just proves how divided opinion can be.

I've said all season that Sandaza isn't good enough for this club. Anyone who was at Plymouth and saw his attempt at scoring from a one-on-one with the goalkeeper realised he wasn't good enough technically. He's given us a couple of brilliant moments and he has served his purpose, he will go down in history. But come on, he's not good enough individually.

Completely agree he'll be off at the end of the season, but it amazes me how you can tell hes out of his depth in 7 injury time minutes yesterday!! I dont think there are many players around that could get upto speed in a game in 7 minutes!! The only reason he was brought on, was to add another striker up front, just in case a chance fell to him.

I don't doubt his shooting ability but he cannot hold the ball up. He was the one who lost possession that directly led to Fonte's goal. We should have brought Kish on to shore up the midfield and kept possession rather than a striker who loses the ball so easily.

When we are getting the ball in the box looking for someone to get on the end of things he is brilliant, yesterday he was bloody awful. Don't think he will be here next year but has done a good job most of the time when he has been on the pitch as his stats show

Sandoza has not really had much chance has he ? Could see him getting a start in two of the last three games. If he does well tomorrow he'd be a shoe in for 'Udders.

Abeit a striker that usually makes things happen for us (late goals and causing opposition defences problems that lead to a goal (Bridcutt for example)

The point about Kish and the Southampton game is that it didnt matter what we did, We had the luxury of playing however we wanted and using whoever we wanted - we could have played everyone in the wrong positions or even played the youth team and at the end of the day we may have lost, but the result has no effect on our final finishing position come the end of the season, and we will still be top and champions - so who really cares that Sandaza didn't have his usual dramatic impact in that one game, where he got just a few minutes on the pitch against a side that was already dominating and looking desperately for goals as they were desperate not to drop points against us. The game, and how we played it would have been very different had the result actually mattered.

Sandaza has had fitness problems this season, but when he has figured he has done well imo - Murray struggled for fitness for 2 seasons and was subjected to abuse from some morons on here and elsewhere but when he was finally injury free and 100% look what a great season he had, maybe a fully fit Sandaza can surprise you and others next season if Poyet chooses to keep him on, whatever Poyet does i will back him, and if Sandaza stays i would give him my full support (which he deserves from all our fans).

Simply not good enough to play in the Championship , I think he'll do well at a mid table L1 or SPL club but if he drops down into L2 he could be the next Craig Davies.
