Good POLL. Beating Liverpool at Anfield* is only really surpassed by beating THEM so as it played out.

*I was a kid when we last did it so I'm basing this on how DELIGHTED I was last night and how much FUN I'm having with plastic Mickeys today.

Potter often mentions fine margins. When we played Fulham we were four points clear of them. Although it would have been unjust, they could have won it in the last minute, with Dunk intervening with his excellent clearance. Against Tottenham we were the better team team, but without Sanchez's great save we may not have won. Against Liverpool we were excellent, but what would have happened if Salah had scored from his chance in the first five minutes?

We've really deserved the change of fortune. We've earned it. However, we've been on the wrong end of fine margins too. Eg home to Man Utd.

So in short, you can't pick and choose and frankly the boost to confidence and the step forward in expectations that last nights win gave us is something I wouldn't give up.

Bang on - such fine margins indeed. But over a season it balances out - the playing style was always strong and good on the eye. Some players have performed poorly and have been 'carried', they have upped their game and we've played with renewed purpose and vigour. A solid g/k has helped the defence in the past few games. Coming back against Wolves, Dunk's clearance & Salah's miss have all helped hugely. To think there's a 10 point gap when a few weeks ago it was looking like 2......and still we don't drop into the bottom 3 (4 seasons in the PL, and i think we've been in the bottom 3 once for a week or so??). UTA - just such a shame we cannot be at the Amex to cheer on the team.

Last night's goal was special. Love that the player who starts the whole move with the back pass ends up scoring, that it's Burn's one touch passes that give the move momentum and then it's him that heads the ball back across the goal for Alzate to score too, and the sight of Liverpool players running and kicking at dead air because the ball has already gone. I know the excellent goal against Leeds may be held in higher regard because they are the best team in the world and managed by a deity, but to do that against Liverpool is such a massive thing. Only a shame there was no way to get a filmed reaction from the "Brighton Kop" when it went in.

The great thing with Potter is that we won't let the players get carried away with recent form, keep learning, keep improving.
Look at Spurs, score 6 at Old Trafford earlier in the season, now look completely devoid of ideas and energy.

The only possible reason to vote option 1 is if we go down... which I highly doubt we will. So def 2 for me - may not happen again for 39 years or whatever it was!

Wonderful to win at Anfield, but even now as we bask in that victory, Premier League survival has to come first, and keeping clear of that bottom three has to be paramount.
