SOCCER star Clinton Morrison spent a night in police cells after being caught up in a drug bust.
The 24-year-old Birmingham City striker and Ireland international was a passenger in a car with two men which was routinely stopped on Monday night.
All three were arrested after a search revealed a small quantity of crack cocaine in the car.
Police in Birmingham searched the driver's home and found a small amount of cannabis.
Morrison told officers: "I was out with a pal and a friend of a friend. I know nothing about any drugs."
Next morning he and his friend were freed on bail.
The third man, charged with drugs offences and obstructing police, is due in court today.
Morrison refused to talk about the incident.
A police source said: "He innocently happened to be in a car where drugs were found.
"From what we know at the moment he had no involvement at all."
