The 'stands' are all so far away and so small that you never get those annoying shadows on sunny afternoons. And my mate has a private drive very near by.

Also, my school did their annual track and field day there and I seem to remember seeing the wombles there in the 70s.

Quite fond of the place really but won't miss it when we get into Falmer.

Won't miss going there in the slightest. Nothing about Withdean holds any warm, fuzzy feelings the way the Goldstone does. But yep, at least that often worked in our favour with visiting teams probably finding it much harder to rise to.

That said, the play off semi with Swindon will live with me forevet as one of the most MONUMENTAL ends to a game I've been at. And yes, that includes running on the pitch after the shoot out. :)

Will miss home games being 20 mins walk from my house!

Will miss fearing for my life when the crowd start stamping their feet.

More than that though, I'll be sad so see Withdean pass because it has played a major part in keeping my club alive and giving me some of my most memorable moments in football. Personally, I love the place and will miss its quirky charm.

I used to go to the fireworks displays there in the 70's, the stadium had a fairly big covered stand where the L&G is now.
I played several cup finals there as a kid in the 80's and also ran a mile round the track with Steve Ovett for charity.
But nothing compares to the 6-0 first game, absolutely incredible.
But the one thing I'll miss most is Rocket Man.

Nice sunny days at Withdean, with the trees rustling behind us in the South Stand.

Post half time Seagulls aerial display when the caterers are throwing the rancid food away!

One thing I will miss is the walk across the pitch so we all get a proper chance to clap Gus et al. Wont be quite the same for me in the North Stand next year. Maybe they can get Gus cam on the big screens?

I will miss my fellow Row Z'ers and the wags in front in Row Y for a decade a laughs and shared agonies and ecstasies over the last ten years or so. In the end it hasn't been a bad place as we have been so successful and those memories will last forever.

four promotions in 10 years. memories will fade and history will forget the shit state of the ground, the trophy haul in the Withdean Years will always be remembered.

i'll miss ...
-being able to park 2 mins round the corner in my workplace car park.
-the away fans being so far away that it was a struggle to really 'cheer' their team forward.
-sunny days with no shadow on the pitch (although would not swap the new roof we've got just for the occasional sunny game).

i wont miss...
-getting wet and having a wet seat.
-fans leaving early to stand on the running track and blocking my view as they go down the steps.
-the wasps flying around the south stand.
-the piss poor atmosphere (no roof to keep it in)
-withdean wager guy and his board and the 'hilarious' fans that shout 'get that board downnn! i cant see' during half time.
-the shit PA system.
-having no big screen and not being able to see a replay.
-LEAGUE 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing really.

I will remember it fondly though, like an aunt that took us in when we lost our parents (The Goldstone) and held us close to her bosom and nurtured us through the dark days always giving us support.

But now we are all grown up and are ready to leave home and start our new life in a new home.

Thank you Withers, from the bottom of my heart I thank you.

I'll miss being able to walk there easily, but what is there really to miss about playing in a pub garden when we have such a marvellous new stadium at Falmer?
