We played Middlesbrough in the carling cup in 2003.

Also what about the Hereford game in '97?

Edit: I'm talking rubbish. Didn't read the thread title fully.

Aston Villa was my first ever game - 1959. Also saw our first goal in the top flight at Villa Park (Maybank)
Only teams we have played that I haven't seen are Newcastle United and Bolton Wanderers.
Lots of non-league teams now that I have seen - Barrow, Workington, Newport, Southport, Aldershot, Kidderminster, Bedford, Wisbech, Rushden, Exeter, Torquay, Halifax, Cambridge, Oxford etc.

English League teams obviously.

I'll kick off with Coventry.........and quite happy about it for some reason

Didn't we play Coventry in 2002?

That would hardley require the attention of older generations!!

OPPS! I've just re-read the thread! Whats the older generation anyway!

Being the second person to make this mistake I would suggest that I'm the one currently looking very stupid!

I don't know if I can be counted as the older generation, however I am not far the wrong side of 40 and have been watching the Albion since 1982, my gaps are:

Chelsea
Everton
Liverpool
Bolton
Wolves
Tranmere
MK Dons (did see us play Wimbledon but don't think that counts)
Accrington Stanley
Dagenham & Redbridge

Have to admit that shocked me somewhat as I had thought that there would be more gaps, guess I have been helped by the fact that we have been up and down the leagues a fair bit since I started going to games.

Same for me plus MK Dons (though I did see Wimbledon).

Feeling rather deflated to realise I must be classed as 'the older generation'

Have been following the Albion since 1969 so not many. Living in the NW means I've missed some teams that we've played regularly recently but I think of curent league teams I've only not seen us play Hartlepool, Colchester & Cheltenham (difficult this season, I know!) and the newer teams in Div 3, Accrington, Morecambe and Dag and Red.

Not including Morecombe or Accrington who not many here would have seen play anyway I think that the only team I have never seen is Aston Villa. Didn't they get relegated to the old second division for just one season in the same year that we went down to the Third? 1987-88?

Same for me; I've seen all the other league teams (although I've only seen MK Dons in their Wimbledon manifestation).

Just Coventry and Villa for me.

You could really add Arsenal to the list but they came down to the Goldstone in a pre season friendly circa 1992 and QPR but i'm sure i saw them in a friendly circa 1976 at the goldstone.

(can anyone help with those last two)

Aside from the league's 'new' teams, I can't think of anyone I haven't seen the Albion play against.

Certainly remember seeing the Albion against Arsenal in the Cup in 1988.

Saw us play against Chelsea at the Goldstone in 1983 - that was bloody terrifying. I was 14 at the time, and EVERY Chelsea lunkhead appeared to be seven feet tall and destined to cut someone up at some point.
