I did nothing as a few days before my soon now to be ex decided she wanted a divorce, not a lot to celebrate there. Mind you I did make up for it on my 51st.

In my defence, I was left unsupervised.

I had three parties. I had a drunken bash down at Circus Circus for my friends, then the following week I had a extended-family lunch for 30 up at some place in Bramber that I can't remember the name of (senility!), and then on my actual birthday I had a little dinner party for immediate family.

My wife wants to go to Venice for her 50th. I said she can have a party at Circus Circus the same as me!

That will be 12 months ago on Thursday.

Took wife and 2 sons to Krakow, Poland for 3 nights. Had a great time.

Spent the day after my birthday visiting Auschwitz.

I went to a bar a few yards from the beach, in sunny California. Played pool, drank and ate the food I got laid-on for the occasion with loads of friends.

The couple of b'days since then have been pretty anonymous, forgettable occasions though. I take a lot more notice of my Mother's birthday, as she certainly won't be getting many more.

Started the day with some breathing exercises just to make sure, put on the plate sized 50 today badge, went to Southwell races where Desert Orchid was paraded (he was retired by then),then a takeaway with the Family and a few tipples at home.Other than that,I can't remember.

I don't make a fuss of mine but my 50th was on the day we drew with ipswich to stay up.

didn't have a match ticket so watched the game in a packed K&Q along with my lads. Mrs met me after the game and we had a great party time in basketmakers then headed up to do the station pubs and the Albion party made it a great day/night. Really enjoyed it.
