No cheating, now!

Which English league club has not finished in the top six of any division since 1969-1970?

Correct! Well. that lasted a long time...

Terrible statistic, though, coupled with the mess the club are currently in.

I'll try one more:

Which English league club is the only side to have played Man Utd under Alex Ferguson's management and remain undefeated?

I knew it would be a shit team who got lucky and probably only played them once, having checked it was indeed a very crap team

I'll leave it for someone who actually knows rather than has to look it up to answer

I imagine they also hold some sort of record for the team who was in the relegation zone for the longest during those years. Survived relegation on the last couple of days of the season for what seemed like decades when they were at the top level

No, I've just checked. York won a League Cup first leg but United won the second leg in 1995.

York won on aggregate but as you said lost the second leg.

I am sure the team is Southend, if I remember rightly the goal that beat them was pretty good too.

Also the answer to an old trivia question: Which club played in all six divisions of the Football League? (Note for younger readers, this was divisions 1, 2, 3 and 4 and also the old 3rd division North and 3rd division South.)
