To be fair the Argentines have a reasonable rebuff for the Islanders vote. They say it is like asking a squatter if he should be allowed to stay in the house.

and yet at the time we inhabited the empty Falklands, the Spanish were vigorously conquering the indigenous people of Argentina. Today many natives are still being denied land and human rights by the European invaders. Who are the squatters?

The photo is interesting as you can see it is being held in front of he players by some lads and a few of the players even look uncomfortable.
Either way, the vast majority of Argentinians agree which is probably te only thing they do agree on! Personally, I don't agree and using a football match to promote such ideas is wrong. Anyone remember the English team doing the nazi salute? That didn't work out well for them either.

Those 'lads' still appear to be members of the official party, possibly even members of the squad.

Why do they care so much about a bunch of rocks, anyway?

Really? That's a special level of ignorance.

Given that Argentina is completely cut off along the southern end by Chile, they won't [or at least will be highly unlikely to] have mineral rights when the embargo on exploiting Antarctica [inevitably] ends and the land grab begins.
The Islands, however, do have "unblocked proximate borders" and would therefore have an internationally recognisable claim.

With oil & gas fields found in the oceans off the islands the financial income from "owning" them is potentially huge.

When all is sh*t at home, banging a patriotism drum is always the first call of a weak politician (and they have been banging that drum for a long time now).

I don't support Argentina's claim of ownership, but logically, the squatter argument causes us to look at who owns the islands on historical grounds as you have just done, rather than just accept that the Islanders want British rule and leave it at that.
