Football Manager - technical problems

Close season 2006 and I'm re-building, improving the squad with my Brighton side after having kept us in the Championship for 2 seasons. And what happens? The bloody game keeps freezing when I try and send my scouts out or customise my shortlists. It's happened so often now that I don't know what to do. I'm on the verge of giving the damn game up

Any thoughts/suggestions ?

By the way, this is much, much harder than previous Brighton CM games, anyhone else agree/disagree?

Have you downloaded the newest patch?

I'm finding it pretty tricky with no money, but surviving. Finished 18th, 14th, 10th so far, and am a comfortable 4th this season in March. Only spent £40k so far too.

No, will do that and see what happens.

What's your team?

What's your team?

GK: Alan Blaney (free from Southampton, initially on a loan)

DR: Hinsh
DC: Gary Doherty (free from Norwich)
DC: Virgo
DL: John Hills (free from Gillingham)

MC: James Morrison (loan from Middlesborough)
MC: Hammond
MC: Alan Quinn (free from Sheff Utd)

AMC: Bruno Gama (loan from Man Utd)

SC: Ermin Rakovic (free)
SC: Kyle Swayne (free from Portsmouth, initially on loan)

Took me a few games to get a good one going, but have definately mastered the transfer market! None of my first 16 have cost me anything. :smokin:

Interesting. No Cullip or Leon Knight? I found an excellent defensive midfielder called Guy Denel who I signed on a Bosman. He's been superb. Sean Bartlett is good up front as well.

My team:

GK Kolinko

RB Hinsh
CB Cullip
CB Kenton ( free after being released from Southampton)
LB Harley ( 40k from Sheff Utd)

DMC Guy Demel

MC Djorbic ( not sure about spelling, free from Man Utd )
MC Nicolas ( on loan from Chelsea)
MC Hammond

SC Bartlett
SC Knight

Cullip's past it for me now, only play him when I've got a few injurys.

Leon left me at the end of the first season as Leeds offered him 10k a week and I couldn't match it. I tried to sign Demel but someone beat me to him.

It's certainly not easy! I'm 19th at the moment in my first season, but am about 10 points clear of relegation.

Team:

Roberts

Hinshelwood
Harding
Virgo
Butters

Hart
Artim Sakiri (loan from WBA)
Nicolas
Carpenter

Gareth Taylor (£6k rom Forest)
Knight

Also bought Stephen Hughes from Coventry for £30k but he's been crap. Had Hayden Mullins on loan too but I don't think West Ham will let him go out again. Going to try though. Pablo Counago was on loan from Ipswich but was also rubbish so I bought Taylor.

Just lost 1-0 at home to Leicester with Mr Prosser sending off Leon and Virgo. Grrr!

Had one game earlier in the season where Prosser gave the other team 3 penalties in 4 minutes and left me with with 8 men by the end. :censored: :censored:

I started with Hull when i was new to the game.By 2016 i had won everything with Hull.It realy isnt hard.

Is there anyone here who has a very sucessful Training schedule for their first team and could post it on here.

The only other problem to i have nowadays is what tactics to use.My current one is 4-4-2 Normal with the preset player tactics. Both midfielders Defensive.

Has anyone got tried and tested tactics?

What is it about Hull? It's one thing to do it with a club which has money to spend but how have you got on playing with the Albion? I think it's pretty hard but maybe I'm just a poor manager.

Its very hard with Brighton.I only started with Hull because i thought it would be easyier to get to grips with the game at first.

My managerial record with brighton went something like this....

Escape relegation
Relegation to Leauge 1
Win play-offs back to Championship
Win play-offs.into premiership
Relegated.Bottom by 15 points
Back in championship-relegation zone by xmas=SACK:(

I took Lewes to the play off in my first season. Won the Conference South play off final all due to play Lancaster in the Final at Old Trafford and the bloody thing froze up.

  :censored:

Haven't played it since as I've been to busy but will try again soon.

I was relegated first season. Finished 3rd but lost in the Play-off Final the next.

Currently 5th looking likely for another Play-off appearance. Team is:

GK Blayney
LB Dan Harding
RB Ian Sharps
CB Tommy Williams
CB Danny Cullip

LM Claus Jorgensen
RM Marcus Kelly/Wade Elliott
CM Paolo Vernazza
CM Tom Soares

CF Marcus Berg
CF Shefki Kuqi

Berg's one of a few good lads picked up from Scandinavia... well worth sending a scout over there for a few months.

Life is harsh !

One of the things that could be better wit the game is if you do something amazing like win a cup or take Brighton to the Premiership, it aught to make more of a fuss about it - no what I mean ?
