These are the absolute nuts - worn them for years. Very comfortable and they have a bottle opener on the bottom which comes in handy!

Is the answer as has been mentioned before. Can wear them with jeans if you're going out later in the evening, or shorts. Universally smart. Incredibly comfortable and solidly built. I've had 2 pairs over the last 10 years. Only reason the first pair died is because they ended up in Chichester Canal Basin after some beers and boats got mixed together.

I'll throw in another vote for Birkenstocks. Mrs W persuaded me to try them because I hate having the plastic bit in between my toes with flip flops. You do need to break them in but once they've moulded to your feet they are extremely comfortable.

Exactly why I never wear flop flips, plus you're effectively keeping them on your feet using that plastic bit and having to think about how you tread.

In related news - always put sun lotion on the backs of your hands - nothing ages you as much as wrinkly, sun damaged hands.

Another vote for the Reef /Fanning combo.

Comfortable, not too pricey (shop around) with a bottle opener in the sole. What more could you want.....?

They also go to 'clown-size' as well!
